Successful hardware design is about more than building and simulating accurate models or fixing problems in the lab. As hardware gets more complex, success is also related to an engineer’s ability to process, parse, make sense out of, and master huge amounts of data. This data comes from simulation software, measurement hardware, and other sources. There are two main challenges: first the data needs to be “unlocked", because data is rarely in the proper structure and format. Next, the data needs to be manipulated in a meaningful way to allow an engineer to gain access to the insights within.
