Paper Abstract
Accelerating Advancement in the Lab & Classroom
To win as educators, you need to anticipate innovation and talent needs. There is tremendous growth happening in all of our core markets and it’s driving the need for educators who can teach new topics and skills to students. On the other hand, as students who grasp these new technologies in school can effectively put themselves into practice in meaningful careers. So, how do we ensure all of these are happening?
At Keysight, we help universities expand and modernize laboratories, create industry-ready engineers, connect with thought leaders and gain positive exposure. In this paper, you will learn it all.
5G Market Trend and Test Challenges
5G New Radio introduces many new challenges for designers and engineers, and developing new radio devices to operate at mmWave spectrum is no small feat. Path loss and signal quality at the higher frequencies, increased complexity from Massive MIMO and Beamforming, and OTA test will be key considerations to overcome test challenges in 5G.
In this session, we will describe 5G test challenges as well as 5G global trend and commercialization schedule. You will also gain new insight about Keysight’s new test solutions for 5G.
Test Challenges and Keysight Solution for IoT Teaching and Education Research
Plenty of market research are predicting the world will be connected through billions of IoT devices by the year 2020. It is also estimated that there would be 4.3 connected devices per person by that time. The IoT wave is here and we are in the mid of this technological revolution. Anything from consumer electronics, medical devices, agriculture or industrial automation is a huge benefactor of this technology, especially in the wave of Industry 4.0. With the advent of new applications, the trends also evolving rapidly. With this, engineers, educators, researchers are poses with new challenges every day to cope with the market needs.
In this paper, we will share our perspective of the trends that we notice in the IoT world, discuss the associated test challenges and Keysight Solution to address them, including teaching solution.
Microwave Sensing & Imaging (MSI) Research for Biomedical
MSI target market does not aim to obtain equal performance to current medical imaging technologies such as CT Scan, MRI, PET, SPECT, Ultrasound. However, the fact it uses non-ionizing and low-power radiation, non-invasive measurement, portable and low-cost make it suitable as a complementary imaging technique. In fact power level needed in biomedical applications is less than what is used in typical communication systems that are often operated in close proximity to the human body. As a complementary technique, MSI is most likely used as a first option in emergency scenarios like in an ambulance or in rural areas where establish imaging technologies lack the required accessibility and portability.
Power the eMobility Revolution with Scienlab Solutions
Driven by the needs to meet the increasingly stringent CO2 emission standards, automakers are seeking the alternative means to power passenger using batteries cars and electrification of powertrains. The various subsystem of the electric vehicles (EV) like the Lithium-ion batteries, battery management system (BMS), onboard chargers and inverters increase the complexities of the test. In addition, EV must interoperate with different OEM’s charging points, also called electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).
In this paper, we look at how Keysight Scienlab solutions provide deliver safe and effective testing of energy components/storage within an electric vehicle as well as ensuring inter-operability.
